Megan Irgens, PhD
Dr. Irgens believes therapy works best when it’s a collaborative process rooted in respect and openness. She uses a structured, evidence-based approach that draws primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Her interventions are tailored to each individual, with an emphasis on building coping skills, increasing emotional awareness, and making meaningful changes in everyday life.
In addition to outpatient care, Dr. Irgens has worked in psychiatric emergency services, juvenile hall, and crisis stabilization settings, providing support during moments of acute distress. She has also conducted research focused on expanding access to effective mental health care for youth in under-resourced communities. Her work reflects a strong commitment to early intervention, equity, and making therapy a space where young people feel safe to be themselves.
