Sarah Raphael is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT134980), with years of experience working with teens and adults navigating different challenges such as life transitions, work/school related-stress, anxiety, and depression. Sarah believes in a supportive, collaborative approach to therapy, and working together to achieve your goals. She has training and experience using a variety of different evidenced-based practices, including CBT, ACT and Solution-focused Therapy.

Her experience working in different school settings in Santa Clara County has given her knowledge and compassion for the challenges that today's adolescents face. She has helped teens facing a variety of issues, including navigating peer relationships, managing depression and anxiety, and conflicts within the family. When working with teens, Sarah strives to create a safe and supportive environment that allows them to realize their strengths and build self-confidence.
Sarah also identifies as mixed-race and Asian-American, and understands some of the unique challenges the Asian-American community faces when seeking mental health treatment. Sarah strives to remain culturally humble, and is committed to the continual practice of interrogating her own biases and assumptions when working with people of all backgrounds.

Sarah completed her MA in Marital & Family Therapy with specialized training in Art Therapy at Loyola Marymount University. Sarah believes that art allows us to express ourselves in ways that words cannot, and has experience using art with youth both individually and in groups. Sarah uses art as a tool to build insight, and as a process that promotes mindfulness skills, self-expression, and relaxation.
In her free time, Sarah loves spending time with her dog (a rambunctious Shiba Inu), watching movies, and engaging in her own art practice (watercolors are her material of choice!).
